The MEGA (Manufacturing and Engineering Growth Advancement) Network

The MEGA (Manufacturing and Engineering Growth Advancement) Network will officially launch at a special Engagement Event on Tuesday 19th November in Cookstown. The aim of the network is to attract suitable talent into the industry, reduce the skills gap and promote opportunities in manufacturing and engineering in the area. MEGA is also working closely with local colleges and schools in relation to relevant curriculum content, information on Apprenticeships and the development of technical skills valued by business.

The MEGA Engagement Event will provide invaluable insight to the industry, into strategies for growth and development in Mid Ulster. There will be the opportunity to network and engage with key stakeholders in building new collaborative ways to further advance Manufacturing and Engineering in the region.

The launch of a new-look Central Online Hub will provide labour market information for students and parents to make informed career choices and will be an ideal resource for companies in the sector to promote and attract new talent.

Speakers at the event include Martin Kearney (Chairman Mid Ulster District Council) ,Rose Mary Stalker (Chairperson Invest NI), Paul Maropoulos (Professor of Advanced Manufacturing) and Maria Curran (MEGA Project Director)

MEGA is supported by Invest NI and Mid Ulster District Council and the Network incorporates membership from Manufacturing and Engineering Companies in Mid-Ulster including: Mallaghan Engineering, Edge Innovate, Northern Hydraulics, Specdrum, SDC Trailers, Specialist Joinery Group, Nugent Engineering and Steelweld.
