Revisiting Combilift at HQ

6 June 2018

Combilift hosted over 30 companies from various PLATO Groups across Northern Ireland and Ireland this week at their new HQ.

Martin McVicar hosted the visit which included a tour of the extensive factory floor, 12 acres under one roof, the largest of its kind on the island of Ireland and an intensive business-owner focussed workshop in the “Cinema Room”.

Martin encouraged companies to embrace the challenges and opportunities that Brexit might bring, the importance of moving forward no matter how slowly and the importance of investing in staff and new innovation. Martin’s hot tip: companies in  the production/manufacturing space should register to be an authorised economic operator to assist with customs checks on site rather than at port. Other useful advice was designing warehouse space for the future, shifts in fuel consumption and need for infrastructure, working with business partners and collaborating with customers.

Dr Cecilia Hegarty thanked Martin for his continued support to PLATO EBR and continued success for the growth of Combilift in the years ahead.
