PLATO EBR’s Drogheda Group are among the First to Experience Drogheda’s Enterprise Hub, The Mill

A Group of 18 companies involved in PLATO EBR’S Drogheda Grouping were introduced to Drogheda’s newest enterprise facility during their first Programme Meeting in October. The Group will meet every month in the Mill and welcome the opportunity to try out the new cutting-edge facilities in Drogheda for SMEs.


The Mill is a new Enterprise Hub located in Drogheda, County Louth - a place of above average unemployment. It has taken almost 5 years of fundraising to make the Mill a reality. Private sector funding of over euro 250,000 has been critical to it’s success. The Mill will act as a catalyst for Enterprise & Innovation in the North East Region by:

-        Providing low cost space for start-ups

-        Providing Training ,Mentoring & Networking for Residents of the Mill

-        Working with secondary schools through the exciting ‘Drogheda Young Innovators’ project (

-        Assisting young unemployed people to explore self-employment as a real option to a life on the dole

-        Collaborating with Dundalk Institute of Technology & DCU on some novel & exciting SME focused initiatives

-        Acting as a venue for the ‘CoderDojo’ youth software coding movement ( Drogheda was the 2nd Club started after Cork)

-        Reaching out to the Community  to encourage & foster  greater Social Enterprise
