PLATO EBR Mentor Induction

PLATO EBR recently hosted an Induction Day for its prestigious PLATO EBR Mentor Panel. Over 30 mentors were appointed to supply specialist expertise to the PLATO EBR participant companies across the East Border Region. The PLATO EBR training for mentors was delivered by Programme Director, Dr Cecilia Hegarty and mainly covered three key aspects:

  • Introduction to PLATO East Border Region
  • Expectations and Procedures for PLATO EBR Mentors
  • Networking opportunities for engaging suppliers across the East Border Region.

 

 

The PLATO EBR coaches promote a diverse range of experience in areas such as:

  • R&D
  • Management and Leadership skills
  • Marketing and social media
  • Sales and Strategy
  • Financial management
  • Legal and cross-border taxation
  • Human Resources and Employment issues
  • Planning and business improvement
  • Entering new markets and Exporting
  • Production and Processes
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  • Procurement
  • E-commerce

The consultants are highly specialised individuals within their field and will work with SMEs participating in the PLATO networks throughout the East Border Region. They seek to assist businesses in the East Border Region with the unique challenges they face to growth and competitiveness by specifically focussing on a dedicated 12-month programme of mentoring activity.

The event was also attended by key stakeholders such as the Project Funder Ciaran Hanna from SEUPB, East Border Region Chairman Gerald Mallon, Dette Hughes from East Border Region (Lead Partner) and other key representatives from PLATO Ireland.
