Launch of New PLATO Groups across the East Border Region

1 October 2015

PLATO EBR 2015 is initially launching four groups for the 2015 Programme composed of 15-20 companies in each cluster. The Programme structures allow for an initial 12-month Programme with advancement options through PLATO EBR and PLATO Inc. (Ireland and Europe). The Programme has been over-subscribed, there are only 60 places available initially, and therefore there are higher rejection rates for the 2015 Programme than previous iterations of the Programme. Companies outside of the EBR region including northern Ireland may also apply. All companies should register their interest now for the reservation listing as new groups will commence subject to funding in 2016.

Of the four PLATO EBR 2015 Groups, 3 follow the traditional model whilst one will adopt an engineering/manufacturing cluster approach. The four groupings are as follows:-

Louth Group Commencing on 28th September 2015

Cavan Group Commencing on 6th October 2015

Meath Group Commencing on 15th October 2015

Monaghan Group Commencing on 21st October 2015

The PLATO Model is underpinned by quality group leaders and those individuals from larger SMEs/Multi-nationals volunteering their time, knowledge and expertise to participant companies on an ongoing basis and we acknowledge their support and are privileged to be working with them in the local groupings. The Core Power Parent Companies for the four groupings are as follows:-

Abcon - Lyn Sharkey

Castlecool – Paul Shortt

GEM Oils – Helen Milligan

Glen Dimplex Ireland – Joe Hughes

Kingspan – Jim Loughran

McArdle Skeath – Micheál McArdle
