Is there Something in Tourism for PLATO EBR Participant Companies?

 

PLATO EBR recently attended the launch of the Geotourism Project where the event provided insights for attendees into the unique product which Geotourism offers the local region. The Mourne Cooley Gullion Geotourism Project is one of a number of East Border Region-led Projects funded under INTEREG IVA. The East Border Region has benefited from circa €24.2 million of INTERREG funds over recent years. Lorraine McCourt from the Joint Technical Secretariat at SEUPB encouraged business owners in attendance to get on board with the Projects at get tangible returns from such projects for their businesses.

 

The Geotourism project focuses on three areas:

-        Tourism Marketing – branding for geotourism in partnership with agencies/businesses

-        Education and outreach – audit educational resources and develop Rock Camps

-        Geology – implement a strategy for geo-sites within the region.
