Building Your Business
About Us

PLATO EBR is a tried and tested 18 month leadership and business development programme targeted at SMEs and based on the principle of peer-group learning. PLATO has been running successfully since 1988 in Europe and in Ireland since the mid-1990s.

The aim of PLATO EBR is to:

  • To promote the successful development of indigenous SMEs
  • Provide a safe and confidential forum for owner/managers to develop their businesses and their management skills
  • Facilitate sharing of experiences and resources
  • Encourage networking and business development
  • Promote Partnerships with Parents / Participants
  • Providing SME owner managers with;
    • 1 to 1 mentoring support
    • Facilitated group learning / Training seminars
    • Specialist expertise and advice
    • Networking opportunities
    • Business development training

The programme offers owner managers a business support forum where they can network and discuss business ideas with established large ‘parent’ companies in the region. These ‘parent’ companies are leaders in their industry sectors, and support the programme by sharing their skills and experience within the network.

The programme also provides participant companies with an opportunity to work through a 18 month dedicated improvement plan for their business with the support of a dedicated Group Coordinator, key leaders in local industry, project staff, trainers and mentors.

PLATO EBR 2015 is co-funded by participant membership fees, in-kind contributions from Parent Companies and the Local Enterprise Offices in the East Border Region. The Programme is based on recruitment for Group Activity for duration 18-months, with additional stand-alone training being subject to further funding. Participant fees for 2015 are estimated at €400, subject to review.
